Transcript of the 'How to use Apple Clips' video

This is the transcript of the 'How to use Apple Clips' video.

Speaker 1:
Hi, and welcome. Today, we are going to be exploring a free Apple app called Clips. We'll explore how to record, add photos and videos from your library, pan and zoom, adjust the length or order of clips, use effects and animation. We'll also add captions, texts, posters, stickers, and music. And finally, we'll show you how to share your video creation. To find Clips, place your finger in the centre of the screen and swipe down. Type Clips in the search, and the Clips app will appear. Tap on the Clips app to open it. In the top left, click on the project icon, and click plus to create a new project. Tap and hold the record button to record a video, the duration is displayed in the top centre. To take a photo, tap the white circle, Clips will begin to appear in the timeline.

Speaker 1:
To add effects, tap on the multicoloured star. Tap filters, I am selecting vivid. Tap on live titles, select a live subtitle to add to your clip. Tap on the text tab, select an editable text format of your choice. Delete the pre-filled text, and add your own. When you are finished adding own text, resize and move it. Tap on stickers. I am going to drag a few animated stickers across, I am going to resize and reposition them around my scene. It's a good idea to regularly press play during your video creation, to check the progress of your clips. I'm going to add Bangalow palms, and emphasise their height by panning on the fly. Press the record button, and swipe the button up for a continuous recording. Then use two fingers to pan up the palm while recording. Or to zoom in, place two fingers on the screen and move them apart. And to zoom out, move your fingers in together.

Speaker 1:
Tap on the clip in the timeline. Drag the arrows at the start or end of the clip inwards to adjust the length. To change the order of the clips, tap and hold a clip and drag it along the timeline, and let go. To add music, click on the note in the top right. Add your own music or choose a soundtrack. This will overlay music across your video and audio clips. When you're finished your video creation, click on the export icon on the bottom right. There are a variety of ways to export your finished product. In a classroom setting, preferred options might include AirDrop to the teacher, send to a Teams or Google Drive, or save the video to your iPad camera roll. Thanks for joining in to learn about the Clips app, and be sure to check out some of our other how-to videos.
