Features of OneNote

Maths

  1. On your page, type or write your equation, using the pen from the Draw tab.
  2. Use the Lasso Select tool to draw a circle around the equation.
  3. Select Math. This will open the Math Assistant pane.
  4. Choose Select an action to perform the necessary mathematical operation.
  5. Click and drag the solution onto the notepad.
  6. Click Show Steps, Solution Steps to show how the problem was solved.
  7. Click and drag the solution steps onto the notepad.

  1. On your page, type or write your equation, using the pen from the Draw tab.
  2. Use the Lasso Select tool to draw a circle around the equation.
  3. Select Math. This will open the Math Assistant pane.
  4. To solve the current equation, click or tap the Select an action box and then choose the action you want Math Assistant to take. The available choices in this drop-down menu depend on the selected equation.

  3. Then select Math. This will open the Math Assistant pane.
  4. Check and see if your equation is correct. If there are errors reading handwriting, click the "Fix it" button and it will attempt to fix the text.
  5. Once it is correct, click the "Ink to Math" button and the handwritten equation will turn to text.

  2. Use the Lasso Select tool to draw a circle around the equation.
  3. Select Math. This will open the Math Assistant pane.
  4. To solve the current equation, click or tap the Select an action box and then choose the action you want Math Assistant to take. The available choices in this drop-down menu depend on the selected equation.
  5. Review the solution that OneNote displays underneath the action you selected.

  3. Then select Math. This will open the Math Assistant pane.
  4. From the Select an action drop-down menu in the Math pane, select Graph in 2D or Graph Both Sides in 2D.
  5. To adjust the graph generated by Math Assistant, do any of the following (where available):
    1. Select (or press and hold) and then drag the graph in any direction to move its position.
    2. Click or tap the + and – magnifying glass buttons as often as needed to change the values of the parameters in your equation by zooming in or out.
    3. Click or tap the double-arrow Reset icon to reset the graph to its original state.
    4. When the graph looks the way you want, click or tap Insert on Page to place it as a screenshot on your current page.

  1. First, solve your equation using Math Assistant.
  2. Next, select Generate a practice quiz.
    1. You may be prompted to sign into Microsoft Forms using your school account.
  3. Type in the number of questions you'd like to be included in your practice quiz. You may enter up to 20.
  4. Select Generate quiz. Microsoft Forms will automatically insert the quiz onto your open OneNote page.
    1. You can interact with the quiz entirely in OneNote, or click the Microsoft Forms link to take the quiz at https://forms.office.com instead.
    2. To take the quiz, select an answer for each multiple choice question and select Submit. From there, select View results to see your score and the questions you answered correctly and incorrectly.
