FAQs

The available licences will be free to valid staff and students. EDConnect is being utilised solely for the purpose of ensuring that only those that require access receive a licence.

The need for an Adobe Creative Cloud can change over time, and to ensure all students and staff can obtain a licence when they need one, the limited pool of licences needs to be effectively managed.

A key part in managing our licence pool is through regular analysis of licence usage. Licences which have had prolonged period of inactivity may be retrieved and put back into the licence pool.

All school-based staff will be able to apply for licences, regardless of their employment status. For casual staff that need the full Creative Cloud licence, we encourage you to use the school name and code from a school that you work at.

Yes. But we are asking all staff to consider if they require a Creative Cloud Licence. Guidance on how to make that decision can be found here.

Schools can use the EDConnect application process to upload a spreadsheet of users that require a licence, their usernames and their email addresses. File formats should be either .csv or .xlxs format.

You can use EMU to obtain CSV files for students. Please use the template provided to upload your spreadsheet.

As the licence is requested we will prioritise deployment. It will be a fast turnaround. Reducing impact to student learning is our priority.

The Creative Cloud package is built in a way that includes all products.

Your licence will work on any device that has the software.

Our current agreement does not allow for primary students to access these tools but Adobe Express has many of these tools available within in its simple interface.

Staff and students can access Adobe Express through a tile on their staff or student portal using. Guides to help this process can be located here: Staff Access for Adobe Express, Student Access for Adobe Express.

Many common functions such as viewing, printing, completing fillable areas of a document and signing with a digital certificate can be completed in Acrobat Reader.

For help in changing the default app for viewing PDFs on your computer, head to the Adobe Acrobat Reader page on the T4L website to view the prepared QRGs.

Education Support Staff will have the same licence options as school-based teaching staff. We are asking all Education Support Staff to speak to their line manager and consider if they require a Creative Cloud Licence for their role. Guidance on how to make that decision can be found here.

Adobe Express is covered under our enterprise agreement with Adobe and parental consent isn’t required.

Adobe Captivate is not a Creative Cloud program and licences for department staff are not included in the standard Adobe Creative Cloud enterprise agreement. If you have a requirement for Captivate, please log an EDConnect request. You will need to provide your department User ID and request a licence for Adobe Captivate to be added to your Creative Cloud licence.

Acrobat Pro, Acrobat Pro DC and Acrobat DC are all the same tool, but some legacy names can still cause confusion. The updated name in UDM moving forward will be “Acrobat Pro”.

There are many options available for viewing and editing PDFs. You can access PDFs through the browser (free), Acrobat Reader (free) Adobe Express (all staff and students have an automatic licence) and Acrobat Pro (apply for a licence). There are also built in features within Google Workspace and M365. See the table below to find the product that will meet your needs.

The NSW DoE security team have confirmed that data is not stored when files are edited with Adobe Express’ ‘Quick Action’ (See T4L Support Guide).

Using this strategy, a file’s cache is cleared as soon as the edit screen is closed.

Please fill out an EDConnect ticket and select 'Adobe Creative Cloud licence - Licence no longer required' to revoke so we can allocate to another student or staff member that needs them.

Your licence may drop off if your account has been inactive for some time.

No. The software will be licenced to individuals and will work when you sign in. If it appears your licence has not yet been applied in the Adobe app you’ve opened, press ctrl + shift + R to relaunch the product and re-authenticate.

You will receive an automatic email from Adobe (notifications@adobe.com) advising the Creative Cloud has been added to your account.

Our system requires you to sign in every 14 days for each device you have signed into.

If you find this is happening more often than once per week, refer to this 'Reduce Popups T4L Support Guide'.
