Transcript of 'Microsoft Outlook - Exploring your calendar' video

This is the transcript of the 'Microsoft Outlook - Exploring your calendar' video.

Speaker 1:

Hi there. In this video, we will look at some of the key features of Outlook Calendar and how they can help organise your day and schedule meetings. I'll be demonstrating using the web version accessed through the Staff Portal.

Start by clicking on the calendar icon on the left-hand side of the Outlook email window. This will give you access to your calendar and can be displayed in multiple ways, from days to working weeks to a month. By clicking on each day when in month view, the details for any events are shown on the right-hand side of the screen, including any Teams links or documents you need to review.

To schedule a meeting, select the date and click New Event, add a title, check your times, and then invite attendees by typing in their names. Once you've done this, you can also use the toggle to create a Teams meeting or toggle whether it is an in-person event. Select Send, and your meeting will be added to your calendar with invitations sent to additional attendees.

You may also wish to share your calendar with other people you work with. In the Home ribbon menu, select Share Calendar and choose the calendar you wish to share. Type in the name of the person you wish to share your calendar with, and then choose from the list of options as to how they can interact with your calendar. When you are ready, click Share.
