Transcript and instructions
There are two ways you can access your Teams SharePoint:
- Navigate to a channel in the team where you plan to upload your files.
- Select the 'posts' tab, then click the ellipsis (3 dots) along the top right menu and select 'open in SharePoint'.
- Select the 'files' tab, then click 'open in SharePoint'.
- SharePoint will open in your web browser and show you the file structure for that channel of your team. Navigate to the storage location. Click the 'upload' menu button and select what you would like to upload; a file, a folder or a template.
In SharePoint, copying or moving multiple files in a single operation has three requirements:
- No more than 100 GB total file size
- No more than 30,000 files
- Each file must be less than 15GB
Adding an app to the team
Transcript and instructions
The main way to use apps within your team is by adding them to a dedicated tab. To do this:
- Navigate to the top of the channel you want to add the app to, and click the 'plus' icon.
- Click the app you want to add to the channel, label it, and click 'save'. If the app is not listed there, you can search for it in the search bar. Some apps may require you to sign in once you've added them.
Tagging an app
Transcript and instructions
You can tag the apps you want in the messages you send in Teams. Apps that work with messages let you insert their content directly into a message. You can do this in a couple of ways:
- When typing a new message or post, use the icon 'try' at the bottom to select the app you want. If the icon is not there, click the three dots and you can search and view all available apps.
- The shortcut to this process is to type '@' and then immediately start typing the name of the app. For example '@forms' will tag the Microsoft Forms app.
