The 2022-23 T4L Computer Equipment Rollout
We are pleased to confirm that deliveries for the 2022-23 T4L Computer Equipment Rollout (T4L CER) commenced in mid-October. We are working closely with the vendors to ensure that the majority of deliveries are made this term. Where a delivery cannot be made this year, schools will be contacted on a case-by-case basis.
For any T4L CER related questions, please contact the T4L CER team via email: T4L@det.nsw.edu.au
Delivery timeline
- Delivery scheduling by the vendors is dependent upon the device model, and in some cases multiple deliveries will be made from the same vendor. We are unable to schedule multiple vendors to deliver the same day.
- In anticipation of deliveries, all vendors will email the person who placed the order and/or the school email address providing advice.
- To view (at any time) regular updates on the delivery timeframes of your devices, please click on the link to be directed to the delivery model table. This useful table provides estimates of the delivery schedule per device model.
Vendor communications
- Order acknowledgement emails are being sent from Apple and Dell to the school delivery contact address (this is the person who submitted the order).
- All devices (including software and accessories) provided by the T4L CER are paid for by the T4L Program and require zero payment from schools.
- Dell’s order confirmation contains payment instructions to be made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - please ignore and raise with the T4L CER team before considering making payment. Validating whether the order acknowledgement relates to a discretionary order (requested by a school) or is from T4L CER is vital in ensuring a single payment is made to the vendor.
T4L Computer Equipment Rollout
T4L CER is a key initiative of the NSW Department of Education. The objective is to ensure NSW school students maintain access to technology that effectively supports teaching and learning.
T4L CER provides schools with access to a selection of new supported equipment and delivers new devices to schools to replace older computer equipment and maintain the DoE standard operating environment.
The project operates over a 4 year cycle and uses an established model to calculate an equitable allocation across all eligible sites. Enrolment data is used to calculate the unit allocations with schools receiving an allocation annually or biannually depending on the school size.
Device catalogue
This year has again been challenging for computer vendors, with supply chains still impacted globally, however the T4L team have been busy working with our partners to ensure a great range of devices are on offer.
The device catalogue will include all equipment available for ordering under the T4L Computer Equipment Rollout and will be available soon. It is updated each year and made available once the ordering portal has opened. The catalogue includes resources to assist with planning and decision making.
To assist schools to make the most of the new devices, the tech tools catalogue that outlines many of the digital tools available to schools will be released as schools start to receive their devices.
Ordering Apple devices – please read prior to ordering
If schools wish to order Apple devices, the Apple School Manager Organisation ID will need to be located as a first step.
How do I find the ASM Organisation ID?
- Login to your Apple School Manager account using your school’s login credentials.
- On the left hand side menu, click the Settings button to access your school’s information. The Settings button appears at the very base of the menu.
- ASM Menu > Settings - Under Settings, click on Enrolment Information in the Organisation Settings section. The Organisation Settings section appears underneath Personal Settings.
- Settings > Organisation Settings > Enrolment Information - The Enrolment Information will appear on the right hand side. If you have an ASM Org ID number, it will appear after Organisation ID:
What do I do if the Organisation ID: section is blank?
If this section appears blank, it means you do not have an ASM Org ID and you will need to start the process of creating one.
All you need to do is call EDConnect on 1300 32 32 32 and select “option 5 for IT”.
Here is an example of what you can say:
“Hello, I am trying to place my T4L Computer Equipment Rollout order for 2022-23, and I don’t have an ASM Org ID. Can you please help me to start the process of creating one?”
EDConnect will provide you with an incident number. The incident number generated by EDConnect will need to be provided in the ‘Incident Number’ field on the Ordering Form. This will enable you to go ahead and place your order for Apple devices.
JAMF licencing and account enquiries
You may decide to transfer the license of your new rollout devices to JAMF School, so that all of your Apple devices are on the same licensing platform.
