This is the transcript of the 'Microsoft OneDrive - Sharing data (Part 2)' video.
Speaker 1:
Hi, there. Having the ability to share files on folders in your OneDrive is one of the best reasons to migrate your data to the cloud. In this video, we'll take a quick look at what you can do with the files that have been shared with you by others. Files that have been shared with you appear in the Shared tab on the left-hand side of the screen. These include files from individual users as well as those in shared locations, like from a Microsoft Team. In here, files that have been shared directly with you will appear from newest to oldest. You can change this order by clicking on the sort button at the top of each column. You can also view files that have been shared by you by clicking on By you tab.
To make it easy to locate folders or Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files, click through the icons at the top of the screen. For folders that you want to access and store in a location that is easy to find, you will need to right-click on the folder and select Add shortcut to My files. This will only add a shortcut into your OneDrive, and so it still retains the permissions from the person who shared it with you. Depending on the share permissions, the same can also be done with specific files. Using these options will improve your ability to locate the relevant data and resources quickly and efficiently without having to trawl through an ever-growing and long list of content.
