Hi, there. In this video, we will look at how you can use the dictation function that is built into Microsoft Word. It's a quick and easy way to get your thoughts out, create draughts or outlines, and capture notes. This speech-to-text tool is also available in PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook in both the desktop app and browser. The desktop app will be used in this demonstration. In the Home tab. Locate the microphone icon with the word "Dictate" underneath it. Simply click the microphone, and begin speaking. Spoken words will then appear on your document. You can adjust the language spoken by clicking the settings cog on the right-hand side of your screen. Clicking the help icon provides a number of voice commands that help you punctuate, edit, and format your text. This includes prompts, such as full stop, new line, and deleting of words. It's always a good idea to review and edit the passage you have spoken to identify any errors.
