Speaker 1

In this video, we'll explore some of the different Canva design types, how to search for templates. Easily find your existing designs and upload other file types such as PowerPoints, PDFs, and images.

Here on Canva's home page, you'll see the search bar in the centre at the top of the screen. This is a great place to start when looking for either a great template or a previous design you may have worked on. Start typing to search and simply use the two tabs to switch between templates and your own projects. When you search for a template, Canva will provide different options based on keywords and any specific design type you add. For example, online safety presentation, whiteboard, or poster.

Back on the home screen below the search bar, within each circle is a selection of different design types, starting with the For You section. This includes some styles you might want to try as well as all of your recent designs. As you move along and click on each design type, you'll be given the option to create a blank design, or you can scroll down further for some tips and to explore the huge selection of templates just for that design type. Click See All on the far right side in each column to view the full range of templates.

Another useful feature of Canva is the ability to upload existing content like PDF documents, images, and even PowerPoint files. You can either use the upload button located in the top right corner, or simply drag and drop your content onto the home page to begin uploading it. Look in projects to find and edit your uploaded content. An important thing to note about Canva Designs is even though you are working within your school Canva team, by default, everything you upload, create and design is only visible to you unless you choose to share it to a specific personal group via a link or by placing it in a shared folder.
