This is the transcript of the 'Classroom use' video.
Speaker 1:
Welcome to the wonderful world of Clips. In this video, we will explore some simple ideas that demonstrate how Clips can be integrated into your classroom with your students quickly and easily. Let's take a look. The first idea of how Clips could be used in the classroom could be achieved by scaffolding a video creation task using posters. This is a great way to help and support students accessing a task. This activity could be done with a wide range of comprehension style activities and really supports the teacher in gathering the evidence they require to determine knowledge, skills, and understanding from their students. An example of this in action could be an "All about me" video.
Using a poster to set each question where the student records after it is a great way to enhance interest, engagement, and success with this task. With the large range of effects available to students, they can easily become the content creators we love in our classrooms. This task is extremely versatile and can be adjusted to almost any video creation idea you and the students could have. A template can easily be created by the teacher and sent out to students by using the share options.
Another idea could be to use emojis and images to support and demonstrate student understanding. There are hundreds of images just waiting to be used by students. The students can resize, rotate, and move the images to suit their needs. Plus, they have the ability to add a large range of effects to their Clips to support their explanations. Let's take a look at a simple way to gather evidence of students' learning of healthy foods. Firstly, we can grab a quick poster, adjust the poster, and call it healthy foods. We could grab five emojis of foods that students believe are healthy for them to eat. They place those foods around the outside of their slide and record.
This task could be extended further in a large number of ways, but a simple example could be to get students to explain what they know about each food they have placed on their Clip. Another great idea to use with Clips is developing exit slips. These can be used when your students leave the classroom to determine what they have learned or remembered from the lesson today. Students can make short but powerful video clips to determine if their learning corresponds with the lesson that you just delivered. This great formative assessment tool is easy to set up and requires no pre-creation from the teacher. These Clips can be simply shared back to the teacher using a wide array of methods within the share feature.
Clips is an easy-to- use tool that can be used very powerfully in the classroom. Let your students build and create videos today to make those memorable learning moments your students will really enjoy.
