Transcript of 'Adding effects and features' video

This is the transcript of the 'Adding effects and features' video.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the wonderful world of Clips. In this short video, we will explore adding some effects to our recordings or images. This is a great way to boost the interest of a clip, showcase further ideas, or even its features. This could include adding a filter, some captions to assist your audience, some titles or words, animated stickers, or even hundreds of different emojis. Let's take a closer look by selecting the Clips app. Before we record a clip, we can add effects and features to it. Now select the multi-coloured star to enhance the clip you're about to record. We have a number of features available to us here. Number one, change the filter or look of your recording. There are many available to you, so take a long look. Students love using the comic book filter, so let's see what that looks like.

Secondly, let's add some live titles to our recording. If you plan on speaking during your clip, live titles will recognise what you have said and add this as a caption on the screen. There are many different styles available to you to investigate. However, one that is certainly worth thinking about is Highlighter, as it follows along with what you are saying to support all of the learners in your classroom. Thirdly, let's add some text to your recordings to really emphasise a point or a statement. There are many different options available, and as always, the text itself is modifiable. Once placed on your clip, the text image can be rotated and resized.

Animated stickers and emojis can really bring your clip to life. They will give it that great fun look and feel. There are many different animated stickers to explore that will move with you on the screen during your clip. Everyone loves an emoji or an image, and there are hundreds to choose from. All of these emojis and images and stickers can be adjusted, and this includes disabling their movement on the screen by simply tapping upon it and selecting Disable Tracking. After you have recorded your clip by holding down the red button, it will be placed in your timeline. You can even add or adjust these great features after you have recorded by selecting the recording and tapping upon it. Now, when you select the multi-coloured star, you will have the ability to enhance your recorded clip with all of the features that I mentioned earlier.

Another great tool that becomes available is the editing of the text of a live title's recording. After you have made your recording, it's easy to adjust the text in a live title. Simply click Edit Text. This will enable you to adjust any of the words that have appeared in the live title. Adding these great additions to your clips today will certainly give them the wow factor that you might be looking for in your classroom tomorrow.
