Transcript of the Adobe Express - Overview

This is the transcript for 'Adobe Express - Overview' video.

Speaker 1:

Adobe Express is a graphic design tool that can be used to create professional looking graphics, videos, and web pages, quickly and easily. It also has inbuilt animation, branding, generative AI and PDF functions. Adobe Express brings many of Adobe's professional tools into a simple interface and can be used for students as young as stage one. It also has an app available for Android and iOS devices. The best way to access Adobe Express is by clicking on the tile that students and staff will find within their portal. This single sign-on link will take you directly to your dashboard.

The homepage displays the range of tools that you have available to you. You'll notice a menu to the left. Your stuff contains all of your Adobe Express designs. Brands allows you to set up your own themes with colours, fonts, and logos. Explore allows you to filter and search, and Educator Resources will provide you with tutorials and training. The purple plus has two tabs. Quick actions on the right has many fast editing options for images, videos, and documents. The Create tab on the left allows you to start a project from scratch by simply selecting your desired page size or document type. Alternatively, type some keywords into the search bar in the top middle of the window. You will find a range of templates and more will be revealed if you tap View all to the right of the templates. When you find a template that you like the look of, select it and hit Customise template. You'll be taken to an editing platform where you can customise your design. Your document will appear in the workspace, in the middle of the page.

You have the main menu to the far-left, indicating elements that can be added to your document. The panel to the right of that is a menu for making changes within each element. To the right of your workspace, you will notice some thumbnails. You can drag and drop these to layer the elements in your document. At the top of the workspace, you will see icons for editing your work, such as colours and alignment. On the far-right, there are options to add and organise pages, and to zoom in and out. Further up in the black strip, you'll be able to change the name of your document by simply selecting the text and typing over it. You will also notice undo and redo icons. The icon of the person and the plus allows you to enter an email address for collaboration. Select the light bulb icon for hints and help, and the speech bubble to leave comments. You'll also notice Download and Share buttons here in the top right-hand corner.

See other videos in this series for more details on how to create graphics, videos, and pages, and to dive into animation, branding, generative AI and PDF functions.
