Adobe Express is a graphic design tool that can be used to create professional-looking graphics, videos and webpages quickly and easily. It also has in-built animation, branding, generative AI and PDF functions.
Adobe Express brings many of Adobe’s professional tools into a simple interface and can be used with students as young as Stage 1. It also has an app available for android and iOS devices.
The best way to access Adobe Express is by clicking on the tile that Students and staff will find within their portal. This single-sign-on link will take you directly to your dashboard.
The homepage displays the range of tools that you have available to you. You will notice a menu to the left. ‘Your Stuff’ contains all of your Adobe Express designs. ‘Activities’ has got some fantastic ideas with simple tutorials. ‘Templates’ let’s you choose from a range of designs all ready to go. You can filter your search by style, mood, type and region and more. ‘Learn’ will provide you with tutorials and training. ‘Brands’ allows you to set up your own themes with colours, fonts and logos.
The purple plus opens a ‘Get Started’ window with has 2 tabs. Under the ‘Create’ tab you can start any project from scratch by simply selecting your desired page size, or document type. The ‘Quick actions’ tab on the right has many fast editing options for images, videos and documents.
Alternatively, type some key words into the search bar in the top middle of the window. You will find a range of templates, photos, videos and more. More options in each category will be revealed if you tap ‘View All’ to the right. When you find something that you like the look of, select it and hit the purple button. The options here may change, depending on the type of document you choose. After yo make some choices you will be brought to an editing platform where you can customise your design.
Your document will appear in the workspace in the middle of that page. You have the main menu to the far left, indicating elements that can be added to your document. When you select an element on your page, a panel will appear just to the right of that menu. This panel is for making changes within each element.
To the right of your workspace you will notice some thumbnails. You can drag and drop these to layer the elements in your document.
At the top of the workspace you will see icons for editing your work, such as colours, themes and animation.
Further up, in the black strip, you will be able to change the name of your document, by simply selecting the text and typing over it. You will also notice a zoom option and the undo and redo icons. The icon of the person and the plus allows you to enter email addresses for collaboration. Select the lightbulb icon for hints and help and the speech bubble to leave comments. You will also notice the Download and Share buttons here in the top right corner.
At the bottom of your workspace, there are options to add pages. If you have more than one page you can drag and drop them to change the order. You can also use the 3 dots to delete and duplicate.
