Transcript of 'Chromebook - Enrolling a new Chromebook' video

This is the transcript of the 'Chromebook - Enrolling a new Chromebook' video.

Speaker 1:

Welcome. In this video, I'm going to walk you through the process of enrolling a brand new Chromebook into our Department of Education, Google domain. This ensures seamless access to all the resources our students and staff need. So let's dive in.

First, let's power up the Chromebook and click Get started in the bottom left-hand corner. To connect to the network, click on DTNSW. Next, we need to configure some settings. Change the EAP method to PEAP. Leave the face to authentication set to Automatic and change the server CA certificate to Do not check.

Next, scroll down to the Identity section and enter your email address followed by a password, and then click Connect. Ignore the terms and conditions pop up and click on the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right-hand corner. Then click on the down arrow next to DTNSW network to access the Wi-Fi settings. Click on the cog icon in the right corner of the pop-up menu, and then change the proxy connection type to Web proxy auto discovery. Close the settings window. You can now read and accept terms and conditions.

The Chromebook might now run through a series of updates. Once the updates have finished, click on Enterprise enrollment in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. When prompted, enter your Google email address ending in @education.nsw.gov.au. Click on next. For those who would like to stay organised, you can add optional information like the Asset identifier or the Building location. These are optional but super helpful for asset management. Click on Next.

Once the enterprise enrollment has been completed, any student or staff member will be able to log onto the device using their DoE credentials.
