This is the transcript of the 'Microsoft Outlook - Getting to know your email' video.
Speaker 1:
As part of the email modernisation project, there are some new and exciting changes coming to your Outlook web app experience. You'll notice a fresh, modern look, including some exciting features and useful integrations. Some of the changes include the full integration of Office 365, including the Office web app launcher, giving you direct access to the online versions of the whole Office 365 suite of apps. You'll also notice the search bar has been pushed up just a little and now sits within the top blue bar of Outlook.
On the left-hand side, we now have a collection of tabs that allow us to navigate easily between each aspect of Outlook, including mail, calendar, people or contacts, including contact groups, files, which contains the attachments from sent and received messages, as well as a to-do tab, which is integrated with Microsoft Planner. You can also directly access Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote online directly from Outlook.
Back up in the blue ribbon on the right-hand side, we have Meet Now and chat functions, which will take you directly to Microsoft Teams as well as notes and a my day view, which comes from the calendar. When we head over and open up an email now, a new second ribbon will appear, including options to delete or archive an email, a variety of junking options, Move to, which allows us to move emails into a variety of folders for organisation, categorise where we can colour-code our emails, and even a snooze option for those who would like to be reminded of a particular email at a later time.
