Transcript of 'Navigating students to websites' video

This is the transcript of the "Navigating students to websites" video.

Speaker 1:

Hi there. The Navigate feature allows you to direct individual students or the entire class to a selected website or resource. To direct your class to a specific website or resource, simply click on the Navigate button in the top left-hand corner of the screen. You'll have the option of directing students to a website by Safari or to an Apple Book. In this example, we will direct students to a website. Click on the Safari tab. Note the option at the bottom of the screen that allows you to lock students into a particular application. This will lock the students just directly into the Safari application, not into our webpage. This may come in handy in order to minimise the disruption for your students.

From here, I'm going to share a site that is listed in my Favourites. Click the Favourites tab. I'd like all of my students in the class to visit the MakeCode Arcade website. I'm going to select this option. You'll see that Safari will open on the student's iPad and the student will be directed to the MakeCode Arcade website. If you would like to direct individual students to a website, simply select the student from the teacher menu. From here, click on the Navigate button, select the Safari tab, and choose your desired website.
