Minecraft: Education Edition Supporting Digital Citizenship
As part of the DoE Safer Internet Day events we are hosting Andrew Balzer from Microsoft showcasing how teachers and students can use Minecraft: Education Edition to raise awareness of digital citizenship. Andrew will create a fully, immersive lesson to guide you with quick tips and tricks to:
Use the tools within Minecraft: Education Edition to engage in the key concepts of digital citizenship
Highlight how students can use Minecraft: Education edition to showcase safe online practices
Access resources that relate to digital citizenship and guide students to build their own ‘safe online practice examples’ through immersive learning experiences
Students participate in the challenge by recording a podcast either individually or in a small group. The theme for the podcast is ‘How I play safe and fair online.’
The Student Podcaster is a series of self-paced modules for teachers and students to develop their skills with capturing, recording, editing and sharing podcasts. This should help your students get started!
Submitting the podcasts
Teachers should review entries, upload them to the cloud (Google drive or OneDrive) and submit the link to us via this form. Our panel will review all podcasts and the top three entries will be published on our site.
