Tell me more about Canva

Canva is an online design and publishing tool with templates that make it easy to create presentations, posters, videos, documents and other visual content. Why don’t you join us for a webinar in Term 3, Weeks 3 and to find out more about how to get started with this premium edition.

How can teachers and students access and use Canva for Education?

You can sign up now using your departmental email address for instant access using this dedicated NSW Department of Education portal. If you already have a Canva Free account created with your departmental email address you will be automatically upgraded. Pro users can contact Canva to consider their options.

If you have created an account with another email account that you would like to upgrade, simply change the email address for your account in your account settings to receive your automatic upgrade (this may take up to seven days).

How can you tell if Canva for Education is right for you?

Schools and teachers are not obliged to use Canva for Education and need to make their own decision if the tool and its features are right for their students.

The department realised that many teachers are using Canva already, and is now making access easy and simple by facilitating an upgrade to this new premium version. You can find all the details on Canva’s dedicated site just for NSW Public Schools

If choosing to use Canva in the classroom, it is a Canva requirement that all students under 13 have parental permission and that they have supplied a letter to assist you with this process.
