Podcasts have become an essential part of our lives, and the skills behind creating and producing podcasts are fantastic real-world skills for students to develop.

  • voicework and pronunciation

  • editing, cutting and adding sound effects

  • pre-production planning skills right through to post-production packaging of content

  • collaboration skills and

  • publishing and promotion skills.

Meet one student podcasting team

The students at Bateau Bay Public School are using the RØDE Podcaster Pro and their teacher Adele Strange calls it ‘creativity’s magic media-making box.’ The students have been involved in making mini-podcasts on their chosen subject or activity.

  • They used GarageBand to add sound effects and music.

  • They uploaded the mini-podcasts to Google Classroom.

  • Some were transferred to the RØDECaster Pro for use during the live. recorded shows.
