Teaching and learning with Microsoft tools

Teacher and student learning together with Microsoft tools

Participants in this one-hour hands-on workshop will focus on using Microsoft tools to design learning opportunities for students to support them to create, modify and understand concepts including problem solving and coding.

Participants will access a range of tools including:

  • Microsoft Paint 3D to explore its power to drive student creativity and problem solving across the curriculum
  • Minecraft Education Edition as a tool for students to demonstrate their learning and experiment with solutions including code creation and modification to solve a problem
  • Microsoft MakeCode as a key computational thinking and problem solving tool which demonstrates and supports the use of and transition from block to general coding.

The session will also present how this learning can be shared and designed for collaboration using:

  • SharePoint Spaces as an alternative way in which students can showcase their understanding within a multimodal portfolio environment
  • Microsoft Teams and its capacity to shape collaborative student learning experiences through collaboration and coordination.

All attendees will complete a reflection of the experience and intended application of their learning, post-course completion.
