Teaching and Learning with iPads in the classroom


Participation in this one-hour hands-on workshop / webinar will explore Apple technology tools focused on managing learning in a digital classroom that support multimodal literacies.

This course is for intermediate to advanced users with familiarity of Apple iPads and apps in their classroom, building knowledge around learning experiences and classroom administration.

Specific features and tool sets presented will include features of the Apple iPad with a focus on creative tools including:

Presentation and prototyping tools:

  • Keynote and Pages as powerful tools that provide students the opportunity to demonstrate their learning.

Illustration creation tools:

  • Tayasui Sketches School as a key illustrative tool that has application across the curriculum to allow students to demonstrate their learning visually.

Video creation tools:

  • Clips as a key video tool that has application across the curriculum to allow students to demonstrate their learning quickly and simply using video.

Coding and computational thinking tools:

  • Swift Playgrounds as an effective visual and text-based coding tool that engages students in the creation of digital solutions.

All attendees will complete a reflection of the experience and intended application of their learning, post-course completion.
