Teaching and learning with Google


Participation in this one-hour hands-on workshop / webinar will explore Google digital technology tools, managing learning in a digital classroom that supports multimodal literacies.

This course is for intermediate to advanced users who are familiar with Google applications in their classroom. It will build on knowledge around learning experiences and classroom administration.

Specific features and tool sets presented will include features of the Google Chromebook /Chrome Browser with a focus on creative tools and how they can be managed.

Teachers will use the following tools:

  • Google Canvas to create and design
  • Google Jamboard to brainstorm, share and collaborate

Teachers will be introduced to:

  • Google Earth and how to build virtual experiences
  • Google Classroom and the features to connect of all of these tools and support creative learning opportunities.

Participants will discuss the ways in which the technologies work to support collaboration and creativity for students and teachers in their school.

All attendees will complete a reflection of the experience and intended application of their learning, post-course completion.
