micro:bit data collection – advanced digital incursion

Bring your students and join the T4L Team as they explore remote data collection using the micro:bit.

Students will explore systems thinking skills, developing solutions to run sensors to collect temperature data. They will and analyse and compare the data with different schools across the state. Students will be shown how to construct the experiment, record their data in a data streamer spreadsheet and then overlay it on a collaborative map of NSW.

This will be an interactive student session where participants are encouraged to ask questions.  The workshop is best suited for students from Stages 3-5.

Tools required:

  • The micro:bits firmware must be up to date. Complete this using the micro:bit user guide.
  • Students require access to a computer as well as two micro:bits per group.
  • Teachers are encouraged to have the webinar ready to play on a computer connected to a screen or a projector so students can follow along.

Please note: This meeting will not be recorded, but please have permission to publish for students to be seen and participate in a live Zoom meeting.
