Sign up your class to this digital incursion webinar to be introduced to Google Sites and learn how to use it to build websites.
This is the perfect tool for students to develop portfolios, publish passion projects or connect and share their learning with their local community.
During this hands-on session, students will need to access a computer with Chrome installed, know their email address and have a topic that they wish to develop a website about. Our suggestions include their hobby, favourite sport or other topics, perhaps focused around a current topic of investigation in the classroom.
In this digital incursion, students will learn:
to add images and content from web sources and from Google Drive
how to navigate different permission structures
to become aware of web design principles
how to add a collaborator to the project
how to optimise their site for accessibility.
Students will need a computer with an internet connection and the Chrome browser installed and open
Students should also be signed into their Student Portal
Teachers are encouraged to have the webinar ready to play on a computer connected to a screen or a projector, so students can follow along!
Please note this meeting will not be recorded, but please have Permission to Publish approvals for students to be seen and participate in a live Zoom meeting.
