#HourofCode Makecode Arcade digital incursion

Two students sitting together laughing and learning about Makecode technology together

It is the #HourofCode. Are your students ready to enter the 'Arcade'?

Join the Microsoft team for this online digital incursion where you and your students will explore the engaging and empowering world of Microsoft Makecode Arcade.

Microsoft Makecode is a free, open-source coding platform for creating exciting retro video games experiences that supports the development of real world coding and programming skills.

In this webinar students will:

  • discover how to run code in seconds using the in-browser simulator

  • learn key computational thinking and coding skills as they develop and iterate games by adding new block blocks and functions

  • be empowered to program their own retro games with this tactile hands-on coding platform

To make the most out of this session your students will need:

If using within the classroom we recommend having the webinar showing on a standalone machine, panel or projector to enable your students to actively follow along on their device.

These events are designed for teachers/students to pause the examples on screen, so they can implement them live during the session. They can then resume the stream when they’re ready to provide a tailored learning experience.
