STEMaSESH is a weekly webinar series bringing STEM specialists from different fields directly into the classroom.
Each webinar will:
Introduce a Science communicator and their career highlights
Provide an introduction to the topic they will be presenting
Link to a hands-on activity (completed live)
Finish with discussion, question time and extension activities.
This week, you will meet Will Pippen, Engineering Draftsman for the Sydney Theatre Company. Will leads the design and construction of sets and props using 3D modelling software that is used in theatre productions. He’s worked on the likes of Muriel’s Wedding (the musical), Opera on the Water, Harp in the South and Throttle Roll (Motorcycle Show).
Grab a pencil, ruler, paper and eraser and follow along as Will guides students through the process of creating the set from a scene in their favourite book or film.
Lesson plans and resources will be available in the stem.T4L Learning Library from board 1084. Make sure you visit this board before the session to ensure you and your students have all the resources you need to participate.
