Getting started with Pages on iPad or Mac

If you’re an iPad or Mac user but haven’t fully explored the potential of Pages, here’s some of our top tips and resources to boost your confidence.

Explore all the features of Pages

In Apple Teacher (don't forget to check T&Cs) there are plenty of features to explore in Pages and you can earn badges as you go.  See image below as a guide!

  • Templates - these are a great way to start as a beginner. Have you seen the Books landscape templates? A great way to create picture books in the classroom.

  • Text - format and style text and create flyers, class lists and more

  • Photos - add and drag photos, and watch text magically wrap around it

  • Shapes - use shapes to support your illustrations and diagrams

  • Drawing - iPad only, but available with fingers if users don’t have an Apple Pencil

  • Audio -  great for showing your learning in different ways and scaffolding younger readers

  • Page Layout - create and customise pages and place elements where you want

  • Books - create a range of books including picture books directly to ePUB format

  • Smart Annotation - a really powerful way for teachers to mark up and annotate work with Apple Pencil
