There’s a wealth of Microsoft tools available to teachers and students alike when it comes to assessment and feedback. Whether it’s a teacher creating self-marking quizzes using Forms, providing rubric-based feedback in Teams Assignments, or a student providing peer feedback to their buddy using the Book & Quill tool in Minecraft, anything is possible and improved student outcomes are the benefit! The following feedback and assessment hacks will help you to empower your students to achieve more.
You’ve been able to create self-marking quizzes in Microsoft Forms for a few years now but recently a little bit of artificial intelligence has been added to make it easier for teachers to create those quizzes. When you ask questions containing certain words, potential answers will automatically be provided for you so you can quickly select them all, or just a few, before then indicating which one is correct. Questions with colours, days of the week or months of the year, as well as close-ended questions, are just a few examples that will provide you with suggested answers. You can also use the Math feature to create equation-based questions which will suggest the correct answer as well as three incorrect answers as possible multiple-choice options. Creating quizzes has never been so easy!
